Across Philippine business and public life, a generational shift is under way. A new cohort of leaders, younger and shaped by a more connected and fast-changing world, is beginning to take the reins, bringing with it different instincts and expectations about how organisations should be run.
The change reflects the world these leaders came of age in. Fluent in technology and accustomed to rapid change, they tend to approach problems differently from the generation before them, more comfortable with disruption and more inclined to question established ways of working. Their instincts are suited to an economy in flux.
The transition carries both promise and risk.
