Canva Pushes Beyond Design as Workplace Use Climbs

Canva, the design platform widely used for presentations and graphics, is expanding into broader workplace productivity, and the company says usage of its work tools is climbing quickly. Users have created billions of presentations and documents on the platform.

The company reported that its document product has become one of its most-used categories, following the earlier launch of a broader suite of tools and the more recent addition of spreadsheets and other features. Thousands of presentations are created every minute.

The Philippines stands out as one of Canva’s strongest markets, with a large share of presentations made on mobile phones. Across Southeast Asia, more than half of presentations are created on phones, a pattern that reflects how people in the region work.

Company leaders have described artificial intelligence as a tool to enhance the platform rather than replace the people using it. That framing positions AI as an assistant that speeds up work while leaving creative decisions to users.

The growth shows how a tool known mainly for design is trying to become part of everyday office work, competing with established productivity software. Ease of use and mobile access are central to that push.

Canva said it would continue building out its work tools, betting that simple, accessible software can win over users looking for alternatives to traditional office programs.
